| Eastridge opens renovated interior |

Eastridge is gradually unveiling renovated portions of the shopping mall and inviting customers into those new areas for the first time since December 2003.
Between now and June 2006, expect to see almost 50 new retail, dining and entertainment options inside of the 1.3 million square-foot regional center or on the outer perimeters of the parking lot. Even with new restaurants in the lot, 7,500 parking spaces will remain to accommodate the increased activity.
Previously, Eastridge representatives had hoped to unveil more of the retailers by this month. Yet the typical construction delays have pushed back the dates on some of the most highly anticipated additions. Read

| Evergreen-area neighborhoods celebrate National Night Out

Evergreen neighborhoods joined more than 70 San Jose neighborhoods hosting community parties on Aug. 2 as part of National Night Out, a national crime prevention celebration.
This was more than double last year’s tally of San Jose parties, ice cream socials, barbecues and block parties geared to strengthen crime prevention awareness, police partnerships and neighborhood pride. San Jose has cosponsored the events for 10 years.
